The sleeve is a tubular ribbed profile (circular or rectangular) used to connect the precast column with the foundation.
This connection consists in introducing the steel rebars of the column inside the sleeves, which have previously been assembled in the foundation. Besides, there exist other applications for the sleeves like the post-tensioning tendons or for creating spaces for the passage of cables and connections.
